Thank you for introducing me to Howard Zinn’s works. As a child a relative had autographed original-run prints by “social realist” Artist Ben Schaun. They made apparently a life-long impression on me, I’ve found much interest in discovering different cultural views held by America’s immigrants. The continuing saga of immigration is a story rich with anecdotes about “The American Experience”. I’ve been fortunate to have met several people that have written some of those pages in America’s lore. Some only anecdotally and incidentally others in more directly. It has given me a deeper appreciation and understanding for the efforts immigrants have made in America in their yet to be completely written stories. I believe Melissa Leo stands prominently in that American Pantheon of those struggling to bring meaning, significance and knowledge through sharing these essential lessons about what “being American” means and bringing this gift to broader and broader audiences World-wide.
A long-time Fan, Jed.

Someone that is perhaps at least in my view, a kindred spirit of Melissa's in the World of Art. A man that through his entire existence sought to promote social commentary and dialogue through his depiction of Art. He was a staunch believer in justice and an outspoken critic of War.
Many aspects of Melissa's dramatic eloquence and matters her works portend provide insights into someone that has mastered the Art of social conscience.

A long-time fan.

Actually, while 'Margaret May' is a cool movie star sounding name, for the sake of historical accuracy, it would have been even cooler had Mellissa chosen her mother's aunt's name... Faye or even her mother's grandmother's wonderful sounding name, Fern. Then it could have been Margaret Faye or Margaret Fern, which would have been good psuedonyms as well. Melissa playing her own sister is a testimony to her incredible acting abilities, a rare treat for television audiences.

Just discovered the wonderful work done with several notable stars for the New York Thanks You presenting Sarah Tuft's play 101 Stories and would like more information regarding Melissa's comments about that event on the 10th Anniversary of 9-11. As I think it is just one of many of the truly awesome activities she's involved in recently.
